FRANCE AND THE SAAR
No Troops Except on League’s Demand POSSIBILITY OF CAMP (Received November 2, 9.30 p.m.) Paris, November 3. Semi-official quarters state that France will not send troops to the Saar except on a clear, formal demand of the Council of the League. She would also request other nations to cooperate. It is stated that the present purely technical preparations are the result of a report to the effect that there is a possibility of a Nazi coup. This cannot be overlooked. NO FORCE BY GERMANY Berlin, October 61. The “Frankfurter Zeitung” says that nobody in Germany thinks of forcibly seizing the territory of the Saar, which will undoubtedly return peacefully to the Fatherland.
