CHURCH AND DIVORCE
Need For Statement of Principles
“There is considerable diversity of practice within the Church at present, and this is sometimes a ground for misunderstanding with sister churches," states tlie report of the Public Questions Committee on marriage and divorce to be presented to tbe General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand at Dunedin next. week. The committee recommends that « special committee be set up to draw up a statement of Christian principles on this subject, conferring, as it sees fiU witli sister churches, ami reporting to next assembly.
The committee also feels that the attention of all entitled by the Presbyterian Church to officiate at marriages should be directed to the Westminster confession, as reaffirmed by the 190 S assemblj’. .
