Mr. George Mclntyre
The death has occurred at Christchurch of Mr. George Mclntyre, aged 91, one of the oldest surveyors in. New Zealand. He was a member of the first Hansard staff, and later was a surveyor and draughtsman. He was appointed in 1869 engineer-in-chief at the Thames goldfields, and then became secretary to the first Registrar-General of Land, in which position he had much to do with the present system of land transfer in the' Dominion. He took up private practice in 1874, in Canterbury and Marlborough.
