Ex-Pupils’ Association
A meeting of the executive of the Tharndon School Ex-pupils’ Association was held on Thursday evening. Mr M. S. Galloway was in the chair, and there were also present: Mrs. Len McKay, Misses Donkin, Bird, N Paton. Messrs. J. C. Webb, Bannister and W. J. Melody. Miss Noeline Paton was elected lion, secretary for the ensuing year. Communications , were received from the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, and from Mr. T. R. Saywcll, remitting life membership subscriptions. It was decided to forward a letter of thanks to Mr. F. Picot, the retiring president, for bis work during the past year.
A grant of £5 was made to the Parents' Association of the school, which had organised a supply of hot soup to pupils during winter months. Attention was drawn to the need for reno vating the school scholarship board also for the need of the adding to the Honurs Board the names of those expupils who had lost their lives during the war. It was decided that the cost of this be defrayed by the association Wi£h a view to bringing ex-pupils into contact with one another the asso ciatlon decided to promote, at an early date, a games evening, to be held at Hie old school, the games to include badminton, ping pong and bridge.
