Y.M.C.A. Competition The first round of the Y.M.C.A. men’s basketball competition for the Bolt Cup was played off in the Y.M.C.A. Gymnasium last evening, when some keenly contested games - were seen. The most exciting game of the evening was that between Gym. A and Y.M. boys. This game was very fast, and' good basketball tactics were shown. . Fire Brigade and Maranui A both showed good promise. Results of the various games are as follow:— . A Grade. Maranui A, 9: Tararua Tramping Club. C. : internal Affairs, 1: Junior Optimists. 0. Y.M. Boys. 10: Gym. A, 8. - . B Grade. Residents, 14; Island Bay Surf Club A. 4. Gvm. B. 12; Fire Brigade. 6. Maranui B. 14; Island Bay .Surf Club B. 2. ' The second round will be played next Wednesday evening. .
