WILL INTERPRETATION
Questions Before the Court By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, March 22. An interpretation of the will of the late Mr. Fred Sladen, a merchant, formerly of Christchurch, was sought in the Supreme Court this morning before Mr. Justice Johnston, when an originating summons was heard. Plaintiffs were Irving Whitworth Sladen, of Christchurch, and John Joseph Dougall, solicitor, of Christchurch, the executors and trustees of the will, and defendants were Sarah Sladen, widow, of Christchurch; Joseph Arthur Sladen, fruit grower, of Nelson; Jessie Amelia Ramsay, of Christchurch; Reginald Tawhiti Sladen, merchant, or Christchurch; and Mabel Marohi Scott, of Dannevirke. The estate is worth £9OOO, and the plaintiffs have placed, before the Court certain questions for decision. After hearing argument his Honour said that in his view the annuity to the sister was terminated at her death. It was not at first a gift of income and then a gift of capital. Her share would return to the corpus of the estate.
