GIRLS’ SPORTS
Wellington College Events PLEASANT CONDITIONS Bright sunshine and a cool wind contributed greatly to the enjoyment, both of participants and spectators, at the Wellington Girls’ College athletic sports held at Kelburn Park yesterday. A long and varied programme was in charge of Mrs. Taylor, the sports mistress, who was assisted by members of the college staff, and the enthuiasm of the girls, especially in house and form contests, was sincere and unwearied. During the afternoon tea was served out of doors to the parents of the girls and friends of the college present. Two “visitors’ ” races brought the sports to a close. The guests were received by Miss F. E. Kershaw, acting principal of the college. Among those present were Miss A. M. Batham (principal of Wellington East Girls’ College), Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Renner, Mrs. McPhee, Mrs. A. Hefford, Mvs. E. A. Dawson, Miss R. Collins, Miss L. Greig, Miss Murison, Mrs. J. Ward, Mrs. H. Lowe, Miss E. M. Rainforth, and Mr. W, H. Denton.
