Fiftieth Meeting Held RECORD ESTABLISHED The fiftieth annual sports meeting of St. Patrick’s College, Wellington, was held at the Basin Reserve yesterday. A good crowd) of parents and friends of the school watched the sports, the spectators in the afternoon including his Grace Archbishop Redwood, who laid the foundation stone of the college 50 years ago yesterday. The weather was fine, but the wind blowing slowed up the times. One record was established when B. Twomey, running in the second heat of the 100yds. handicap (under Hi years), did the distance in 114-o. Mr. T. W. Leslie acted n s starter, and the programme was carried out up to time. Father Cleary, S.M., school sports master, directed a hard-working sports committee. . The school inter-club contest, decided on all events, was won by Marae with 93 points.
