Gallus left by the Maunganuf yesterday for' his home in Melbourne, after a 12 months’ trip abroad. The vacancy on the Canterbury College Board of Governors, caused by the death of Mr. W. M. has been filled by the election of Mr. W. PSilencer, who is the present chairman of the Canterbury Education Board. Mr. Spencer was elected unopposed, as the only other nominee, Mr. H. Odell, withdrew his nomination.
