Training Alsatian Dogs At Vevey, on the shores of Lake of Geneva, Switzerland, is established a very successful school where Alsatian dog's are trained as guides for the W After three months’ preliminary training to discover, if they arc suitable and free from savagery, they arc attached for one month to blind persons who come to stay at the institution, and together they learn an intricate system of hitlts and turns by which they can negotiate any traffic, the dog thus becoming the “eyes foi b °A chart is kept of each dog’s performance, and marks are awarded foi skill, and, if sufficient proficiency is shown, he is attached permanently to the blind person with whom he has been working, never to leave him, day or night. It is hoped to establish a branch of the institution in England.
