A good woman clothes cutter can command her own price in any establishment to-day, Mr. C. Ogilvie stated in the Conciliation Council at Christchurch, when the wages foi this class of worker were being considered in the clothing trade dispute. He said there was “tons of work” for good cutters, but they were exceptionally hard to get. A girl who could cut a blouse decently was exceptionally difficult to secure, and could get practically what she asked for her services.
