No Restoration of Cuts Tlie possibility of restoring the 10 per cent, cut in salaries and wages of Public Servants was raised by Mr. A. S. Richards (Ls.b., Roskill) in a question asked the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, in the House of Representatives yesterday. Mr. Richards suggested that steps in this directidn should be taken before Christmas. Mr. Forbes replied that the state of the public finances would not permit of the action suggested by Mr. Richards.
