KITCHEN TEA

Bride-to-be Honoured

A delightful kitchen tea was given at the Hutt recently by Mrs. Bennett, in honour of her sister, Miss Madeline Hargreaves, who is to be married shortly. The drawing-room was decorated with roses in all colours, and the hostess received her guests wearing a black mariette and lace frock. Some charming and useful gifts were opened by the bride-to-be, for which she made a happy little speech of thanks. During the afternoon a competition caused much amusement,. and was won by Mrs. Salt. Mrs. lan Browne, Palmerston North, and Miss Lois Mair contributed elocutionary items. Among those present were: Mesdames'Hargreaves, lan Browne (Palmerston North), Hawke, Thorpe, Tunlev, Gwen Webb, Mackay, Mclntyre, Russell, Peard, Clarcl, Woods, Mair, Munro, Salt; Misses Hargreaves, Hallet, Bennet, Framgee, Mair, Patricia Hawke.
