Mr. and Mrs. George Shirtcliffe will arrive in-Auckland by the Akaroa on Thursday. They will leave for Wellington by the Limited express the same evening. Mrs. Lindsay Ross, an ambulance officer from Nelson, who has been the guest of Mrs. G. Barltrop during the St. John Ambulance Brigade annual competitions, returned home last evening. Mrs. R. E. Culverwell and Miss Jean Culverwell, Kelburn, who have been visiting Mrs. M. Smith, Kaituna, are now the guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. de Lisle. Cornwall Street, Masterton. Among recent guests at the Hermitage, Mount Cook, were: Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Prydei South Africa; Mrs. A. E. Brown, Sydney; Miss K. Gardiner, England: Mrs. L. M. Middlebrook and Miss B. E. Chappell, Wellington.
