Trevethick, of St. James’s Square, Auckland, has returned from a visit to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Curtis, “Niagaroon,” Petone, are visiting their son at Tiraumea, North Wairarapa. Mrs. J. Dunnett, who has been visiting New Plymouth, has returned to ■Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Knight, Karori, are staying at Karehana Bay, Plimmerton. Mrs. Duthie, Heretaunga, has returned home after a short visit to Auckland. Misses Kempthorne, Auckland, are staying in Mrs. H. W. Moss’s house in Hobson Street for a few weeks. Miss Mollie Whittle, who has been staying with Miss Gwyn Madden, Austin Street, has returned to Stratford. Miss Agnes Mac Lean, Mulgrave Street, Is paying a visit to her sister, Mrs, Ellis, Christchurch. Lady Findlay, Wellington, spent the week-end in Masterton with Mrs. J. Kennedy, Opaki Road. Mrs. R. R. Page, Essex Street, Masterton, is spending a holiday at Paraparaumu. Miss D. B. Speedy has returned to Palmerston North after a trip to the Hawke’s Bay district. Miss Betty Sproule, Napier, is the guest of Mrs. John Duncan, Heretaunga. , Miss Mary Dawson, Dannevirke, .arrived in Wellington yesterday, and is staying with friends in Wadestown. Mr. and Mrs. Briarcliffe Thorpe, Palmerston North, are the guests of Mrs. W. R. Kettle, Lower Hutt. Miss Grace Booth, Plpitea Street, has returned from a holiday in the north of Auckland. Miss D. Brown, Te Ore Ore, Masterton, who has been on a visit to Dunedin, has returned home. Miss V. Judd, Masterton, who has been visiting Palmerston North, has returned home. Mrs. R. H. Kirkman, Wellington, who has been staying in Blenheim, left for Westport. -Mrs. W. A. Veitch, wife of-the M.P. for Wanganui, is at present an inmate of a private hospital. Mrs. H. Alltree, Palmerston North, and Mrs. Johnston, Matamata, visited Wanganui at the week-end.-Mrs. J. E. Thomas and the Misses Patsy and Ellie Thomas, Blenheim, are visiting Wellington. Miss B. Hille, Riverlands, Blenheim, has returned home after visiting Wellington. . , Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Webster, Wellington, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Diehl, Christchurch. Miss Cassie Fuller, Wellington, who has been staying with her mother, Mrs. F. Cook, Christchurch, returned home on Sunday. , , Mrs. Hubert Nathan and Miss Joyce Nathan, Hobson Crescent, who have been visiting Christchurch, will return to Wellington to-day. Mrs. Horace Dyer, Wellington, is visiting Christchurch, and is staying with her mother. Mrs. Rawlings, at the Royal Hotel. Lady Findlay and Mrs. Blaxall. Eastbourne, who have been staying with Mrs. W. Kennedy, Masterton, will return to Wellington to-day. Miss Ina Wilson, The Terrace, who is staying with her uncle in Launceston. Travers, Day’s Bay. who has been visiting her mother, Mrs. S. L. Partridge, Fendalton, Christchurch, returned home at the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. G. Love, Mrs. M. C. Coates, Palmerston North, and Mr. and Mrs. Hoker, Feilding, were Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Newsome’s guests for the Clark—Newsome wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Brodie have bought Sir Thomas Wilford’s house, 23 Tinakori Road, and expect to take up their residence there some time in January. Mrs. C. M. Gilmour and her daughter. Miss Ida Brown, Wellington, have recently returned from Suva, where Miss Brown’s engagement was announced. Mrs. E. J. Mackinnon, Napier, arrived by Saturday’s express to be with her sister, Mrs. George Luke, who had a very serious operation yesterday in a private hospital.
