WESLEY CHURCH CHOIR

Annual Meeting of Members The annual meeting of the Taranaki Street Wesley Church Choir was held recently, when the Rev. T. R. Richards presided over a large attendance of members. In voicing his great appreciation of the good work done by the choir during the year, the chairman made reference to the many letters he invariably received after a service that had been broadcast. These letters came from all parts of Australia and New Zealand, and not a few of them •contained appreciative remarks on the choral part of the service. The annual report showed that, m spite of having no less than 22 changes ip personnel during the year, the choir had'been able to well maintain its standard and numbers, and to live up to its reputation of being one of New Zealand’s leading Methodist choirs. 1 Special reference was made to the fact that Mr. H. Temple White had now completed 20 years as organist and choirmaster at Wesley Church; Many grateful tributes were paid to the great work he had done during that time in building up and maintaining such a fine choir. Appreciation was expressed of the work of the minister. Rev. T. R. Richards, and of his personal interest in the choir. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted :—Organist and choirmaster, Mr. H. Temple White (re-elected); deputy-conductor, Mr. H. E. Gardiner (reelected) ; hon. secretary. Mr. 11. F. Gardiner (re-elected) ; hon. librarian. Mr. Lakiiig; committee, Mesdames 11. R.‘ Clayton and F. G. Yeo, Messrs. E. L. Howe, and C. Downes; social committee. Misses C. Cameron and B. Ferguson, and Mr. B. O. Stokes.
