DOMINION BODY

Suggestion by Motorists WELLINGTON’S APPROVAL Entire approval of the principle of the establishment of a national governing body for motorists, under the title of the New Zealand Automobile Association, was expressed last night by members of the Wellington Autoniobile Club executive. It was explained that the proposed body should provide for every local club to retain its own identity. In default of more complete details of . the proposal, it was agreed that only the general principle could be approved at the present time. It was to be understood that the organisation would be nation wide, and not a North Island body. It was necessary, too, for existing local clubs to be affiliated and not amalgamated with it. The executive decided to notify the North Island Motor Union of its approval of the scheme, and to offer to facilitate the arrangements to be made in every particular. It was desired that the matter ne brought to finality as soon as possible.
