CITY WORKS LOAN
Auckland to Raise £116,000 JOBS FOR MANY MEN t By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, November 6. After a number of unexpected delays, the Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, has succeeded in arranging for a city works loan of £116,000 at 4 1-8 per cent., for the employment of a number of the present relief workers at standard rates of pay The money has been made available by the Australian Mutual Provident Society, and a programme of works will be put in hand almost immediately. The works on the schedule will require about 250 men, and will take two and a half years to complete. In addition, many will be employed in the supply of materials.
