ST. RONAN’S CLUBS

Annual Competitions . The annual competitions of the Si. Ronan’s Girls’ Club were held in the church hall last week. .Mr. Steptoe, of the Y.M.C.A., acted as judge. The senior championship was won by Miss L. A. Stewart, and the junior by Miss Shirley Andrews. This year one feature was the champion of champions’ competition, in which the champions of the last five years competed for a special cup. After a keen and close competition, this was won by Mrs. A. N. Presk. Mr. Steptoe highly commended the members on the high standard obtained in all branches of the club work. The St. Ronan’s Young Men’s Club also held its competitions last week, the judge being Mr. C. A. Kitto. Tho winner of the senior championship was Mr. R. Farmery, while the junior was 1 won by John Moore. Sir. Kitto congratulated the boys on the excellence of their drill. The apparatus work was also of a high standard, and showed great promise. At the conclusion of tho competition the Rev. E. R. E. Ross, on behalf of the boys, presented an inscribed wallet to Mr. Pollock as a slight token of their esteem. For many years, he said, he had devoted a great deal of time to the club work, and all the boys who had passed through the club were very much indebted to him for his efforts on their behalf.
