ROSE DAY APPEAL

Plans for Friday Nexf A very well attended meeting held in the Returned Soldiers’ Association rooms last evening made arrangements for Rose Day, which is fixed for Friday, November 10, the day. before Armistice Day. Colonel Pow was in the chair. The stands were allotted as follow; —Bowen Street, Mrs. Bramley, Mrs. Coffin; Wairarapa Farmers’, Lambton Quay, Mrs. Parnell, Mrs. Spence: G.P.0., Mrs. Murphy, Mrs. Anslow; Kirkcaldie and Stains and D.1.C., St. -John Ambulance, Mrs. Gaby in charge; Kelburn Tramway and Maritime Building, New Zealanders’ Association, Mrs. Hine in charge; Bank of New Zealand Corner. Mrs. Pow and helpers; Y.W.C.A.. Boulcott Street, Women’s National Reserve, Mrs. Beale jn charge; Bank of New Zealand, Cuba Street, Mrs. Carroll, Mrs. Rowntree; Cuba Street. Red Cross Society, Mrs. Henry in charge; Courtenay Place, Mrs. Goldsmith ; Newtown, Mrs. Bramwell Scott; Hataitai, Mrs. Mcßae. The suburbs will be attended to by the auxiliary committees. ■ There are 20,000 roses to be: sold, made by women helpers during the past three monthsan the R.S.A. rooms. A supply of badges is being made to supplement the roses. Helpers are still wanted, and volunteers will be gladly signed on for work at the stands, even if only one or two hours’ service can be given. Eastbourne, Hutt Valley, Upper Hutt, Porirua. and Paraparaumu will also join in the Rose Day effort.
