MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS

Deputation to Ministers

CONFERENCE DECISIONS

Resolutions covering a wide range of local body activities, which were passed at the last annual conference of the New Zealand Municipal Association at Rotorua, were placed before the Government yesterday by a deputation comprising the president of the association, the Mayor of Wellington, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, Mr. J. O’Shea, counsel to the association, and Mr. F. 'M. Martin, secretary. Their representations were received by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, the Minister of Public Works, Hon. J. Bitchener, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. J. A. Young, who promised consideration of the various matters discussed. In introducing the deputation, Mr. Hislop said that the fact of the conference being the first for three years accounted for the large number of remits. ■ '■
