BIBLE SOCIETY

Te Aro Branch Meeting Mrs. T. B. Strong p.jsided at the annual meeting of the Te Aro branch of the British Bible Society, when there was a large attendance. Mrs. Strong introduced the Rev. David Calder, the speaker for the afternoon, who said that the sales of Bibles in New Zealand last year exceeded all records by 5949 copies, while the total for Bibles, testaments, and portions was 34,602. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the speaker, and carried by acclamation.

The following officers were elected: President, Mrs. T. B. Strong; vicepresidents, Mrs. Cullen and Mrs. Evans; secretary, Miss Reeves. The organising secretary thanked the hostess on behalf of the members for her hospitality. The president entertained all present, at afternoon tea.
