CHILD KILLED BY EGGSHELL.
The death of a niue-months-old • child from injuries caused by a piece of eggshell which lodged in the larynx was inquired into in Liverpool recently. The mother said the child died in hospital after an operation. She had sometimes fed the child with pieces of bread dipped in egg. A pathologist said that an X-ray examination revealed a flake-like foreign body in the larynx. The coroner returned a verdict that death was due to asphyxia, caused by a piece of eggshell.
