Successful Start Made OFFICERS FOR 1933-34 Reference to the .success which had attenefed its activities since its inauguration in April'last, was made at the first annual meeting of'the New Zealand Insurance Institute-held last night at the Dominion Fanners’ Institute. There was a large attendance of members, who had no doubts as. to the-position the institute would rijse to occupy in the. future. The president, Mr. H. P. Hopkins, was in the chair. v Tlie report, and the balance-sheet which showed the -institute to be in a Strong financial position, were adopted.
The election of officers for the year 1933-34 resulted as follows President. Mr. H. P. Hopkins (Royal); vice-president, Mr. C. M. Martin (A.M.p.); committee, Messrs. W- D. Arnold (Government Life), V. M. Edgar (National), A. J. Hyder (Union Assurance), L. Monkmau (York-shh-o), A. C. Gray (M.L.’C.), I. F. Irvine , (N.M.L.A.), C. J. Palmer (South British), and H. B, G. Walker (A.M.P.);,hon| auditor, Mr. M. Goldstein (C.M.L.); hon. general treasurer, Mr. W. G.“Porteous (A.A.1.1.) ; hou, general secretary, Mr. H. M. Bolton (A.M.P.)-. A musical programme, which followed the business of’ the meeting, consisted of the following items:-—. Vocal solos, Mr, S. Duncan; humorous recitations, Miss Seymour; and vocal duets by Miss G. Stevens and Mr. Duncan. The accompanist was Miss Stevens.
