A startling story regarding a foreign airship of the Zeppelin type spying over France is told by a senior military officer in the “Petit Journal. The officer says that on the nights of August 30 and September 1 the airship flew over the artillery works at Salbris and inspected the ground and its searchlights. The airship must have crossed over almost a third- of France, flying high and unlighted.
