Sir,—lt was with great interest that I read the opening remarks of his Worship the Mayor, at the meeting in. the Town I-lall, re the above, in your issue this iinoriiing. In common with hundreds of others, I was under the impression that the Princess Competition of the National Confidence Carnival was to be held from November 18 -to November ■ 20, and I could not understand why every now and again we would see a small announcement in the papers that a Princess had held a function. I imagined that this was just spade work for the carnival. I now realise that the Princess Competition is the Big Feature of the carnival, and is now in full swing, so it behoves all of us “Rip Van Winkles” to stir ourselves and help all we can to make it the success it s «'’ es^s’ G fexED.
