Among several illustrations which Mr. Frank Milner gave in a recent address in Christchurch of the ignorance in America of the geographical situation of New Zealand was the following : To the question of a Los Angeles man he replied that he came from New Zealand. “What State is that?” asked the Californian. Mr. Milner explained that New Zealand was not in America, and, producing a map, showed the location of the Dominion. The American studied for a moment the small spot on the map. “But where do you go.” he asked, “when the tide comes in?”
