One compensation of the long and arduous voyage of the British destroyers on loan to Australia will be that the crews will receive a regular rum ration, which is not customary in the Roval Australian Navy, but will bo adopted during the forthcoming journey, partly to benefit the many R.N. ratings among the crews.

Archbishopric Refused. Canon How has refused the Arch bishopric of Brisbane, states a London cable. He said: ''l have consulted several people who are thoroughly acquainted with Brisbane, and they are emphatic that the position cannot be undertaken by a married man with a family, unless he possesses private means. I must therefore regretfully decline, having no alternative.”
