There i-s an art in applying rouge; hut even the most adept of applications will fail if the rouge is not of the right colour. For this reason he sure to choose the shade that is most suited to your complexion. The shades that can he purchased vary greatly; hut the better makes are available in tints from which one can be chosen to be “just right’’ for your particular needs. Apply rouge with a soft pad, starting at the high point of the cheek and follow the natural curve of the cheek toward the nose. Use the middle finger to blend the rouge into the full parts of the cheek. Carry the rouge very faintly from the cheekbone to the outer corner of the lower eyelid before blending the colour right away to nothing around the edges where colour has been applied. Rouge to be effective must look natural. All-too-oftcn it looks obvious. It is worth remembering that colouring can be applied with more liberality for artificial light thanks possible in the daytime.
