OVERTIME PROBLEM
New South Wales Railways
JUDGMENT OF COURT Sydney, September 14. The court gave judgment that time worked in the railway service in excess of nine hours on any one day or shift was overtime, which should have been excluded for the purposes of determining, salary under the Public Service Salaries Reduction Act. It is expected that the effect of the judgment will cost the Railway Department several thousand pounds in adjusting payments.
