NEW JUSTICES
Thirty-three Appointments Gazetted COUNTRY NEEDS MET Thirty-three new hppointments to the Commission of the Peace are announced in the Gazette issued last evening.' There are two Wellington names in the list, those of Mr. A. E. Allison and Mr. H. H. Sterling. With the exception of these two appointments and one at Christchurch, all the appointees are resident in rural districts or townships. In an accompanying statement the Minister of Justice, Hon. J. G. Cobbe. explained that the present list was supplementary to that recently issued. The majority of the appointments had been rendered necessary by deaths or -e--movals of Justices of the Peace in country districts, in which in several instances there was no Justice of the Peace always available to sign documents requiring the signature of a justice.
