Digging in his garden recently a Christchurch man uncovered what at first sight, he thought was a silver coin. It was the colour of a half-crown, aud practically the same size, but closer investigation proved it to be a valueless piece of metal, one of the hundreds of tokens distributed at the time of tint peace demonstrations. Words round the edge said that it had been issued by the Addington workshops, and on the other side was the outline of a railway engine. Many tokens similar to this found their way at one time or another Into kitchen gardens, and they are now frequently uncovered in the course of digging.
