COLLECTION OF RATES
Maaterton County’s Position Masterton, September 14. The rates collected by the Mnsterton County Council up to August 10, the last day on which discount was allowed, totalled 33.86 per cent, of the amount levied. The total amount levied this year was £14,988. of which £5076 was colieeted by the last discount day. This shows an improvement in comparison with the previous year, when the rates levied totalled £16.254. of which £4977, or 30.68 per cent., had been collected by discount day. Figures for the various ridings are ns follow, those for the previous year being given in parentheses:—Opaki: Rates levied.-£3638 (£4002); collected. £ll2l (£1075); percentage, 30.81 (26.86), Rangitnmau: Rates levied, £2368 (£2793) : collected. £853 (£1116); percentage, 36.02 (39.95). Upper Taueru: Rates levied, £l5BO (£1719) ; collected. £43S (£442) ; percentage. 27.72 (25.71). Te Whiti: Rates levied. £1748 (£1907) ; collected. £BO9 (£849) ; percentage, 46.17 (44,52). Uritj'; Rates levied, £3030 (£3011): collected. £B6B (£669) ; percentage, 28,64 (22.22). Wainuioru: Rates levied. £2624 (£2822) ; collected, £986 (£826); percentage, 37.58 (20.27).
