DESTRUCTION OF VERMIN
Prizes for Opossum Trappers So perturbed was Mr. L. O. H. Tripp, late president of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society, at tho growth of vermin in native bush reserves that prior to retiring from office, he offered prizes to the opossum trappers who would destroy tlie most vermin during the 1933 trapping season. The season concluded on August 31, and a little later all tallies of vermin caught were submitted to the society s rankers. The prize winners are as follow: — First prize (£5), Wilford Clifton, Te Horo. Second prize (£3), A. S. Coojicr, Akatarawa. Third prize (£1), William Woodland, 163 Fitzherbert Avenue, Palmerston North. Fourth prize (£t), J- O. Coe, c/o J. Bryer, Revans Street, Featherston.
