Dunedin, June 12. In one of the most willing bouts seen here for a-long time, Bert Lowe won the middleweight championship of New Zealand by defeating George McEwan. A feature of the bout was the game showing by MacEwail, who was beaten badly in practically every round, and fought the final four almost “out” on his feet. In the ten-round preliminary between Charlie Buckley, Dunedin, and Dave Richardson, Timaru, Buckley won on a technical knock-out in the ninth round.
