Man and Young Woman Overtaken by Darkness BIVOUAC BY A FIRE Dominion Special Service Auckland, April 27. A young engaged couple hud an unenviable experience on the slopes of Firongia Mountain last night, when they became benighted and had to spend the night in the open. They were Mr. Leonard Luxton, an electrician, aged 27, of Myrtle Street, ClaudelamLs, and Miss Revina Green, a typist, aged 25. of Opoia Road. Claudelands, daughter of Mr. \V. Green, of Morrinsville. Mr. Luxton and Miss Green set out from Hamilton in a small car yesterday morning with the intention of climbing tiie mountain. They did not reach the summit until 4.30 p.m. and failed to realise how late it was. While they were on the way down darkne.-s fell and, being uncertain of the track, they decided to make a tire and spend the night where they were. Although the night was freezing and conditions were unpleasant, they made themselves as comfortable as circumstances would permit. Their only anxiety was the worry their absence would cause to their relatives .and friends. When day dawned tiie couple had no difficulty in making their way down to the point where they had left tiie ear. Several search parties set om to took for the missing people, and some time was spent in recalling them Mr Luxton and Miss Green returnou to Hamilton early this afternoon little the worse for their experience.
