Board Reappointments

TERM OF THREE YEARS

A notice in yesterday’s Gazette confirmed the reappointment for a further term of three years of the following members of the Town Planning Board, established under the Act of 1926. Mr. F. C. Widdop, representing the New Zealand Society of Civil Engineers; Mr. W. M. Page, representing the New Zealand Institute of Architects; Mr. A. H. Bogle, representing the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors; Mr. T. C. A. Hislop and Mr. T. Jordan, representing the Municipal Association of New Zealand; Mr. S. Blackley, representing the New Zealand Counties’ Association; and Mr. C. E. Hercus, appointed on the recommendation of the Minister of Internal Affairs. Mr. Malcolm Fraser, Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs, has also been appointed to the board, he having assumed his present position since the last board was appointed. Under the Act, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. J. A. Young, is chairman of, the board, other statutary appointments being those of the Director of Town Planning, the Surveyor-General, Mr. H. E. Walshe, the Engineer-in-Chief of the Public Works Department, Mr. C. J. McKenzie, and the Government Architect, Mr. J. T. Mair. The Town Planning Department is at present without the services of a . director, Mr. J. W. Mawson having relinquished office at the end of last month on the termination, by mutual agreement, of his contract with the Government
