CONVERSION LOAN
British Treasury Bills / Official Wireless. Rugby, March 17. Notice is given by the Treasury of a new issue of 24 per cent, conversion loan, dated 1944-49, to be offered by tender or otherwise as the Treasury may from time to time adopt. Each tender must be for an amount of not less than £lO,OOO. The object of the issue is to clear up a volume of Treasury bills which, owing to the financing of £80,000,000 of foreign credits in the early part of the year, exceeds the amount ordinarily outstanding. GOVERNMENT STOCKS Strong on Stock Exchange official Wireless. Rugby, March 17. The salient feature of the .Stock Exchange market was the strength of leading British Government stocks, which registered a general advance of l-Bth to 11-16th, with War Loan, 34 per cent., at 100.
