Brazil Government’s Offer PAYMENT BY BARTER Kobe, March 17. Press reports state that the Brazilian Government is negotiating with the Japanese Foreign Office for the construction in Japanese yards of 30cruisers, destroyers, and transports. Payment will be in kind, probably less in produce than in the form of a colonisation concession. (Received March 19, 6.30 p.m.) London, March 18. British firms have 'also been approached by the Brazilian Government in regard to the construction of warships, cruisers, and destroyers, payment for which will be made by bartering 'coffee and other products.
