FAREWELL GIFT TEA

College Hockey Club Assembly A most enjoyable evening was held last week, when the College Old Girls’ Hockey Club gathered at the Tararua Tramping Club Hall to farewell Aliss Sybil Swinburne, who is soon to be married. An energetic committee was responsible for a most entertaining programme, comprising several elocutionary and musical items. A feature of the evening was a one-act play entitled “Props,” the players being Misses Roma Bitossi, Al. Eberlet, H. McLellan, M. Hallewell, P. Hilkie, B. Charles, N. Williams and M. Wiffin. During the evening Aliss Swinburne received many beautiful aud useful gifts, receiving on behalf of the club a silver tea service, and in addition an etching of the Wellington Girls’ College from tbe members of the senior A team. Aliss Swinburne has been actively associated with the hockey club since its inception seven years ago, and the loss of such a staunch captain will be very keenly felt.
