SCOTS DECORATIONS
A Coming-of-Age Party
To selcbrate the coming of age of their daughter, Elsie, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Fry, Owen Street, gave a delightful party, which was held in the Pharmacy Hall. The guest of honour looked charming in a dainty frock of ivory macrame lace, finished with ostrich trimming, and wore a coral necklace and shoes to tone. She carried a sheaf of beautiful pink and cream carnations and gladiolus. Miss Fry, together with her mother and father, received the guests, numbering more than 100, and the evening was spent in dancing, competitions, and musical items. The Merrymakers provided excellent music for dancing. Mrs. Fry wore a smart frock of pale green georgette and lace, with coatee. Among those present were Mrs. Alacfarlane, who wore navy blue mariettc; Mrs. D. Parnell, heliotrope embossed georgette; and Mrs. F. Braid, cyclamen lace and ninon. Two great aunts of Miss Fry were present, Mrs. F. Taylor, wearing black lace and crepe de chine, and Mrs. S. Alexted. black crepe de chine. , The guests also included visitors from Auckland, Christchurch and Wanganui. A delightful supper was served, and the usual toasts honoured, in additon a special toast to relatives in Scotland. An unusual feature was the decorating of the beautiful birthday cake with twenty-one Scottish thistles.
