COFFEE FUDGE
■ Place in pan 2 cups sugar. 1 cup water, small piece of butter. Boil as quickly as possible until a little tested in water cracks (30Odeg.). Take off, add 4-tin sweetened condensed milk. Return to fire and boil very slowly, stirring constantly until mixture turns brown and a little tried in water forms a. soft ball (about 240 deg.). Add 1 taWcspoonful coffee essence, 4-teaspoon-ful vanilla, pinch salt. Beat until sugary and. iwur on flat buttered dish. AVheu cool enough cut in squares.
