THE BUTTERCUPS.
Pretty little buttercups, Shining in your beds. With your wings of beauty, And your winsome heads. Little yellow buttercups, Blooming in the woods. With your brilliant colours, Where the fairies stood. Graceful little buttercups, ' Brightening, our way, With your heads held proudly, And laughing all the day. Sad must come the parting, For ’tis close of day. And all our lovely buttercups Are fading fast away. —Original, by “Ericula,” aged 13, Hawera. lIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIHIIIIIIIIIIIII
