Inter-college Athletics CRICKET AND LIFE-SAVING The special' attraction, among the sports for to-day will be the annual championship meeting of the Wellington- Secondary Schools’ Amateur Athletic Association, which will commence at Athletic Park at 10 a.m. Cricket Championships. The third series of matches in the Wellington Cricket Association’s senior championship competition will be commenced this afternoon. Two games will be played on the Basin Reserve, ■Petone meeting Wellington College Old Boys and Midland engaging Institute. Kllbirnie and University will oppose each other at Kilbirnle, and Wellington will try conclusions with Hutt on the Hutt Recreation Ground. The Mercantile Cricket League will {also continue its championship compe'titions. Life-Saving Displays. The Maranui Surf and Life-Saving Club will officially open the season at 2.80 p.m. to-day. The day’s festivities 'will be rounded off with a dance in the .clubhouse at 8 p.m. Rifle Shooting. The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club will 'fire the second match in the third series at Trentham to-day over ranges of 800 land 900 yards. Tennis at Miramar. The Wellington Lawn Tennis Association’s interclub competitions will be continued at the Miramar grounds this afternoon. The only first division match /vill be that between the women teams W Thorndon and Brougham Hill.
