SATISFACTORY YEAR
Despite Reduced Production GREY VALLEY COLLIERIES By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Nov. 8. The annual meeting of the Grey Valley Collieries, Ltd., was held to-day. In moving the adoption of the annual report,: the chairman, Mr. R. B. Bell, said tilat in view of the difficulties of the year, during which the Dobson mine had been closed for 41 months and the output, owing to the diminished market, had been reduced from 100,000 to less than 50,000 tons, the profit of £5021 must be considered satisfactory as compared with £7906/10/wlth double the output in the previous year. This had been achieved by. the policy of economy adopted by the directors, together with lowered working costs.
Messrs. 11. Stensfield and J. R. Templin were re-elected unopposed to the directorate and Mr. R. B. Bell was reelected chairman of directors.
