Another Cotton Industry Crisis RATIFICATION REFUSED (Rec. Oct. 30, 6.30 p.m.) London; Oct. 29. Another cotton crisu has developed. Consequent on a delegate meeting of the Operative Spinners’ Amalgamation overwhelmingly refusing to ratify last week’s agreement, the spinners will not resume on October 3t in the mills where the new terms have been enforced. Two hundred thousand workers, including cardroom operatives, are affected. I LOOMS PER WEAVER Joint Discussion Opens Official Wireless Rugby, October 28. Following the recent settlement of the wages dispute in the weaving section of the Lancashire cotton industry, manufacturers and operatives to-day began a joint discussion of the proposal for more looms per weaver, left over from the general settlement. Failing an agreement through the existing machinery, the problem w’lll come before the new conciliation body set up under the recent general agreement.
