M.P. ARRESTED
Unemployed Relief Distribution CHARGES OF FRAUD (Rec. October 30, 6.30 p.m.). Vancouver, Oct. 28. A message from St. John’s, Newfoundland, states that Mr. Roland Starkes, Opposition member of the Legislature for White Bay, has been arrested on seventeen charges of fraud in connection with the distribution of relief to the unemployed. The police laid a charge that Starkes had fraudulently signed dole receipts during a period of several months. He was released on bail.
