A Well-diversified Programme

There was only a sparse attendance at Hie mid-day organ recital given by the City Organist, Mr. Bernard Page, iu the Town Hall yesterday. Au excellent and well diversified programme included as the major numbers the ingenious “Prelude and Fugue” on the name of Bach by Franz Liszt, the popular “Peer Gynt” suite, and Grieg and Handel’s “Concerto in D Minor” (Opus. 10). Other numbers were the “Prize Song” from “The Mastersingers” (Wagner), Leinare’s dainty “Summer Sketches.” Crackel’s “Caprice in G Minor,” Salome’s “Cantilena,” and sixteenth and seventeenth century music by Dandrieu, Frescobaldi, and William Byrd. The receipts, for the Mayor’s Belief Fund, amounted to 14/1.
