VISIT TO SWEDEN

British Princes’ Farewell FINAL SPEECH BROADCAST (Rec. October 12, 5.5 p.m.) Official Wireless Rugby, Oct. 11. The Prince of Wales and Prince George to-day ended their short visit to Sweden, which they have both so obviously enjoyed. King Gustav and several members of the Swedish Royal Family were at the station when they left, as well as a great crowd. The Princes were spending this evening at Gothenburg before leaving at midnight for Malmo, where an aeroplane will be taken for Hamburg. Prince George will then fly to London, while the Prince of Wales will pay a short private visit to Amsterdam, staying at the British Legation. The Prince of Wales broadcast a speech last night in which he expressed to the people of Sweden warm thanks for the friendly reception, given to his brother and himself. He said that he was much impressed by all he had seen, by the beauty of Sweden’s country and capital, and by (hose aspects of industrial life which he had been able to inspect. Commenting on the widespread knowledge of the English language among all classes in Sweden, which had impressed him especially, he expressed the opinion that Swedes were wise to learn English because it was becoming one of the best and easiest means of intercourse between nations. It was a greift satisfaction to him to observe the growing tendency in Sweden toward commercial and cultural relations with Britain, which, he*assured, the Swedes, Britain would reciprocate fully and warmly.
