ROAD CLASSIFICATION

Local Bodies to Confer Feilding, Oct. 12. The question of making a definite classification of the roads in the Manawatu County Council’s district was considered at . yesterday’s meeting of the council, when it was decided to convene a conference of neighbouring local bodies in Feilding early next jnonth. The county engineer, Mr. H. V. Bond, said he felt that the county . could not very well act on its own, as heavy traffic interests were district-wide. He would like to see a conference of neighbouring bodies discuss the matter so as to secure uniformity of classification. The council could deal with the subsidiary roads, but before any action was taken he would like to see the suggested conference held.
